From Inktober the 19th: Loop.
Marriage came to mind with this prompt. At first it was just the thought of a wedding ring. But the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to emphasize, not the ring itself, but the relationship.
Marriage really is a continual process: a continual commitment, a continual love, a continual growth. It loops on and on, presumably forever, as two people continue to pour into each other’s life.
It is not always easy. It is not always exciting. It is not always fun. Love sucks like that.
But as C.S. Lewis said, “Love is never wasted, for its value does not rest upon reciprocity.”
So this really goes beyond marriage and into any relationship we’re in. It doesn’t even have to be a romantic one.
Love hurts sometimes.
Love is hard sometimes.
Love is always a risk.
But love is always worth it, because love goes on and on forever.
