This world has never been absent of war. Thus, this world has never been absent of the need for heroism, for sacrificial duty, for men and women who put their own lives aside to serve, and in doing so, give up more than we can really understand.
War leaves behind so many victims. Creates wounds deeper than we can ever know. I am so thankful for veterans. Whether or not they were deployed in wartime, they have willingly served, willingly fought; lost time with their families, lost companions, and all too often lost their mental well being in the process.
On this day that used to be more widely recognized as Armistice day, we pray for and look forward to an eternal and lasting cessation of all violence and war.
Until then, we salute you veterans.
