So interesting fact: platypuses are one of the few mammals that do not have a stomach. They make up for this by being super weird in almost every other way as well.
Another interesting fact: as of Monday of last week my wife also does not have a stomach. She had a prophylactic total gastrectomy due to a rare genetic mutation that is linked to high incidents of stomach cancer. So now she’s an honorary platypus.
She also has a webbed toe.
