Practice definitely does not make perfect, but it sure does make pain.

Pain as the repetition lays down ruts like in a well travelled road.

Pain in frustration over the fact that the more you practice, and the better you get, the farther away from your goals you feel, and the more you notice every tiny imperfection.

Funny that most things in life that you want to improve are like this. They have to get more difficult in order to get easier, and it almost always requires a whole lot of discomfort.
