Best time to mow the lawn is when it’s three feet tall and soaking wet. I mean… at least that’s what I tell my son.
“Can I mow it now, dad?”
“No, kid. It’s too short and dry. That’ll be too easy. Give it some time so it has a chance to defend itself. That’s more sportsman like.”
K, so no, I don’t really do that. But here in the Pacific Northwest, we are no strangers to cutting tall wet grass. Kinda comes with the territory.
Builds in you that good old fashioned grit.
Yea, I know I shoulda done this earlier, I know I wouldn’t be in this mess if I’d planned ahead and wasn’t so lazy. But here I am, today’s the day, and gosh durned it, I ain’t gonna quit till every last bade of grass has fallen.
Gotta have that grit, because that’s just how life is gonna be sometimes.
Nothing can change how you got to where you are, but it’s time to put in the hard work and just keep on pushing through.
